And also, if a gigs sold out at the time of me posting it I won’t put it here!
The Civil Wars – Thursday 8th @ Rough Trade East, Dray Walk, 91 Brick Lane, E1 6QL
FREE, although I imagine it’s the usual, buy the album and get a wristband malarky. I believe they give out the rest of their wristbands an hour before the gig, which starts at 7pm, so get there for 6!
Ruarri Joseph + a whole host of other Cornish Guests – Saturday 10th @ Rich Mix, 35-47 Bethnal Green Rd, E1 6LA
Dubbed, ‘Kernow in the City 2012’ this night proves to be a Cornish extravaganza. This is its third year running and is in celebration of St. Piran’s day, Cornwall’s National Day, which was on March 5th. Although I don’t really think it’s a real day, as, as someone I know said, ‘Google doesn’t recognise it’. I did once get to see Ruarri Joseph supporting Seth Lakeman, I found Ruarri to be the better one to watch, and enjoyed it a lot more!
Earth + Mount Eerie + O Paon – Sunday 11th @ Union Chapel, Compton Terrace, N1 2UN
I put this on here mainly for Mount Eerie, due mainly to the fact that I’ve listened to a few of their songs, and actually quite liked it! The reason I stumble across this gig was while looking for the Matthew and the Atlas one the day after, which has unfortunately now sold out.
James Yuill + support – Monday 12th @ Old Queen’s Head, 44 Essex Road, N1 8LN
This is the Old Queen’s Head Dead or Alive night. An unsure one actually because on Time Out they say that they’re playing tonight, however on the Old Queen’s Head page it says ‘Acts to have played this night include:’ soo… take your luck I guess, and it’ll probably be a good night either way. Or you could just ring them up!
And that’s it for this week! Hope I’ve helped you find someone to go and watch. Have a good week and I’ll get back to you with more Live in London next week (and maybe on Wednesday, but we will see…)!
